Problem
How do I update my Nios™
ethernet development kit to work with the Nios embedded processor
version 2.0? [Nios 2.0, ethernet]
Solution
If you have the Nios ethernet development kit for the Nios
embedded processor version 1.1 installed when you install the Nios
embedded processor version 2.0, then your Nios ethernet development
kit components will be updated automatically. However, if you have
uninstalled the Nios ethernet development kit for the Nios embedded
processor version 1.1, then the ethernet components will not appear
in version 2.0 of the Nios embedded processor.
To fix this problem on a Windows operating system, follow these
instructions:
- Download the nedk.reg
from the Altera® web site. Save this file to your hard
drive.
- Click the Windows Start button, and click Run.
Select the nedk.reg file and click Ok.
- Click Yes when the "Do you want to add the
information..." message appears.
- Install the Nios embedded processor version 2.0 kit. Although
the installation process will not be any different, the Nios
ethernet development kit files will be on your system when the
installation is complete.
You can also add the registry key manually by typing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altera Corporation\Nios EDK]
"VERSION"="1.2"
Or, you can also manually add the registry key by typing:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altera Corporation\Nios HDK]
"VERSION"="2.0"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altera Corporation\Nios HDK]
"SOPC_BUILDER_HOME"="your Nios 2.0 installation path"
